TOILET SECTION

Toilet Plunger & Toilet Snake

Most toilet clogs are very shallow and usually where the first curve in the toilet drain begins. The drain pipe becomes larger below the toilet so most toilet clogs are not deep.

Do NOT use any chemicals to unclog a toilet

You are more likely to crack the toilet than unclog it due to the amount of heat those chemicals produce.

A plunger is always a first step for a toilet clog and if it is not doing the job then a toilet snake is the next step.

Toilet Plunger

Most people use the wrong plunger for a toilet. Make sure your toilet plunger has an extra rubber flap sticking out of the bottom to actually go into the hole of the toilet bowl.

Toilet Handles

To figure out which toilet handle you need, first check where the hole for the handle is.

FRONT Handles are considered standard

SIDE Handles are different angles depending on which company it is so check which brand toilet you have.

CORNER Handles are handles that are installed on the

corner of the toilet instead of the front or side.

Toilet Fill Valve

This mechanism is the on/off switch for filling the tank.

Once the tank is full, the black float is pushed up by the water and turns off the valve.

* There is also a black rubber hose that connects the fill valve to the overflow pipe of the flush valve *

Toilet Flush Valve

This is the other tall pipe inside of most toilets. This is the pipe that the rubber flapper attaches to at the bottom to cover the hole and keep water in the tank.

Safety Tips for Proper Gas Line Installation

  • Seal threads with yellow teflon tape or teflon paste
  • Do NOT seal threads with white teflon tape (white is for water only, not gas)
  • Screw the adapters onto each side first and then attach the flexible pipe last
  • Test for gas leaks using a mixture of soap & water
